Animal Control
We operate as a humane boarding facility for the City of Cranbrook, providing exemplary care for stray dogs and cats within the Cranbrook city limits. Pets picked up by Bylaw Services in Cranbrook are brought to us and treated like paying guests! They get all the same care and attention of regular clients, plus initial vaccinations and health exams.
With this service being attached to bylaws within the city, we are not able to confirm or deny your pet’s presence at the kennel. If you believe your animal may have been picked up by Animal Control, please contact the City Bylaw Team @ 250-489-9598. The bylaw team will advise you of the next step to retrieve your pet. They will then provide you with a release certificate that we require to release the pet.
Pickups can be arranged for anytime within our normal business hours. It is best to call us first to arrange to make sure we can accommodate you promptly.
Please note that while we will take reports of missing animals from outside the city limits and attempt to assist in retrieval, we are not contracted to perform service with animals outside city limits. For those animals, please contact the SPCA for assistance. Ensure you mention that the animal is from outside city limits.
There are a few things we are often asked to do that we are unable to. These include:
-
We do not accept animals surrendered from the general public,
-
We cannot sell or provide you with a license, you must contact the City for that.
-
We do not foster animals from other rescue organizations.
