Vet Policies

Mountain Paws Pet Resort works diligently to ensure that your pet is safe and happy while in our care.

Dogs are very happy to run and play and interact with each other, and normally are quite safe.  Occasionally there are incidents where a pet has incurred an injury. If we total up all the individual dogs we have cared for versus the incident counts, we have a 0.08% incident rate. In those rare cases when a veterinary visit is required, here are the policies that are used to keep your pet healthy and safe.

  • You will be informed prior to the seeking of any care that we have had an incident and would like to take the dog to a vet.

  • You will have the final say in whether or not treatment is applied.

  • We will attempt to contact you, as well as the emergency contact you have supplied.

  • In cases where we cannot make contact and the issue is urgent, we will always do what is needed for the overall health of the dog.  If that means we are forced to approve a procedure for you pet, it is your responsibility to pay the charges at pickup.

That all being said, we have worked directly with the vet team at Steeples Veterinary Clinic to provide prompt care when needed.  We created a list of common occurrences and had Steeples review and approve our processes, timelines and responses.  We are confident that if the worst happens and your pet gets a boo-boo, we will take the best care possible of your fur baby.
